From Historic Inspiration to Modern Creation

Building on the concepts discussed in the lecture, students will bring their design ideas to class and learn to apply them to create a meaningful modern wall quilt. Design choices such as fabric placement, techniques and quilting will be discussed. Then, using a pattern template that Melissa will provide, you will create a border referencing your personal story and then work on a center block design that reflects your idea. You will leave this class having created a unique design imbued with personal significance that will become a beloved family heirloom.
