Quilt world icon Helen Frost, who began quilting in 1972 and teaching two years later, says CQC members will have stars in their eyes as they enjoy her trunk show, “Lone Stars: A Galaxy of Quilts,” at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021, via Zoom. She’ll present star quilts from the close to 40 years she’s been designing and making them including some from All-Star Quilts: 10 Strip Pieced Lone Star Sparklers (C&T Publishing, 2010), a book she authored with her mother, Blanche Young. Variations include Touching Stars, Blazing Star, Broken Star, Double Star and more. And Helen will share stories from her years as a quiltmaker, author, teacher, and in her words, “magician.” Helen will teach her “Lone Star Sparkler” workshop from 1-4 p.m. two consecutive Sundays, January 24 and 31, 2021, via Zoom.
